College Coursework On Resume

If you have attended college—even if you did not graduate—you do not need to include information about high school in your education section. List the name and location of the school you attended, the type of degree you obtained, and your graduation date.

If you had a minor, concentration, or emphasis, you can list that as well. If you are a recent college, or if you have little real-world experience, you might opt for a more detailed education section. If you received any coursework honors or were awarded merit-based resumes, you can include this information in your education section.

Only list your GPA in certain scenarios. If you choose to list coursework, keep it to a tightly-edited list.

Use the titles of courses instead of course numbers. Listing information about major projects you completed can be a better route than simply listing courses completed. For example, you can include the title and a one-line description of your thesis or senior project.

If you chaired a fundraiser, were elected to student government, or had an original work published in the campus literary magazine, that is the sort of information to focus on. Include the name and location of coursework school; whether you include the colleges is up to you.

You could also include a line that provides information about how many years or resumes you completed, or your field of study, depending on your goals.

In this section, include things such as conferences, seminars, and training sessions you have attended. Once you have several years of work experience, your education section carries less weight.
