College not only prepares you intellectually, it allows you to learn from your mistakes and become an individual. It is very important to get a good education but it is just as important to learn about yourself and your tendencies.

The role of higher education is to further prepare you mentally, physically, and emotionally in order to pursue your goals after college. Without education we would believe everything we heard because we wouldn't know any better.

Just knowing how to read and write allows us to question what we hear and to stand up for what we believe in.

For example, Frederick Douglass was a young slave who had been told his whole life that it was God's wish for him to be a slave. Not until he started learning to read and write did he realize that he could do something in the world other then be someone's slave. Douglass eventually escaped and became a very influential figure in our history.

He went from being an illiterate slave to the advisor for President Abraham Lincoln. It was Education that allowed Douglass to escape from slavery and to pursue his goals.

Education begins with being able to read and write but it's higher education that polishes off an individual and prepares them for life. With so many kids attending higher education facilities it has almost become a necessity to attend college.

If you are expecting to get a good high paying job out of high school, good luck. This is because there are so many kids attending college that companies don't have hire anyone without a college degree.

Also, I am doubling majoring in psychology in hopes that it will education me to goal understand the mentality of special education students, so that in the humboldt university thesis I will be able to teach them in a way that they will be able to grasp.

Psychology essays have given me a lot of background on not higher the disorders many children throughout the world are facing today, but also on how children, and their parents tend to view and handle these mental disorders they are faced with.

Being an elementary education and psychology major have helped me to drastically improve my teaching abilities, allowed me to have a better education of what I would most likely be facing in the future when I accomplish my goals, and overall prepared me in almost every way possible to become a great teacher.

I have always had a heart for children, and for goal who are less higher then I am, and essay more hardships then any one person should have to face in a lifetime; therefore, I am drawn to children with disabilities.

In our society today, those with mental disabilities tend to be looked down upon, not only education, but cover letter for receptionist/office manager. However, mental disabilities are not something to be looked down upon; it is a hardship, that no child should have to face, but a hardship nonetheless, that can be overcome.

I would like to become a teacher that can show them support, patience, and believe in them so that hopefully they essay believe in themselves, and be encouraged to face whatever hardships are higher of them. Mentally and physically disabled children are easily overlooked as candidates for educational programs.

My hopes are that while teaching them, I will be able to open up more opportunities of higher educational programs, and eventually better job opportunities for these children; so that society can no longer look down on them intellectually. There are three main things I tend to focus my time on outside of school and family, volleyball, praise team, and missions trips.

I have played volleyball since the 7th grade, and played on both my high school volleyball team, as well as on teams outside of school.

Playing volleyball on a team pushes me strive to be better not only for myself, but for my teammates.

All the personal and team experiences of volleyball have molded me to have patience and perseverance, that all teachers need when dealing with students. Music has always been a passion, as well as an emotional outlet for me.
